Hello and welcome to my website! I completed my Single Subject Social Science Credential through California State University San Marcos in May of 2015. I am seeking a contract as a social science teacher and looking forward to getting involved at my school. Prior to the credential program, I attended community college while working as an instructional aid at a high school for five years. I then transferred to California State University San Marcos where I completed my Bachelors degree in History focusing on "middle eastern" studies.
I discovered my passion for teaching as an instructional aid. I was only nineteen years old when I began helping students in their health, science, math, English, and history courses. Throughout my five years as an instructional aid I became involved in school functions and found that life as a teacher was very fulfilling. I helped administer Pi day, chaperoned the week long Jr. AVID college trip for five years, assisted coaches, taught lessons, and helped substitute teachers transition into their new classrooms. Most importantly though, I built relationships with students and staff that I maintain to this day.
When I am not at school, I am usually rock climbing. At around the same time I began teaching I also began rock climbing. Along with teaching, rock climbing transformed my life. I found that challenges and obstacles are not there to stop us, but instead, they are there to push us to be the best that we can be. Rock climbing specifically taught me that the impossible was indeed possible. Along with rock climbing, I road raced motorcycles briefly and continue to ride for fun today. I am an adventure seeker, traveler and seeker of wisdom. I look forward to being a part of the generations that are still to come.
